This month we celebrate SpeechDojo’s fifth year anniversary. As we celebrate this milestone, we are also delighted to announce a leadership transition that will position our organization for its next five years of growth.
After leading SpeechDojo for the past five years, Ebun Akomolafe and myself will be stepping back from our current operating roles. We will both remain deeply engaged with SpeechDojo, with myself serving as our board chair and Ebun serving as a board member.
Effective June 1, Nimra Hooda will become SpeechDojo’s next President and Areej Shaikh will become our next Vice-President, Classroom. Nimra and Areej are highly competent and committed, and SpeechDojo is enormously fortunate to have them on our leadership team.
As we celebrate our five year anniversary, I also want to share our gratitude to those who made our impact possible. Over the past five years, our school partners, donors, mentors, and team members have enabled the following impacts:
1370+ students taught through our in-school program. This includes our 15-week Classroom program for elementary and junior high students and our Online program for junior high and high school students
4 million views of our instructional videos on social media
450 individual online course learners who enrolled through our website
This impact would not have been possible without your support – thank you from our entire organization. Going forward, we plan to build on this foundation, accelerating our growth both within and beyond traditional school systems. Specifically, we intend to:
Increase our reach in schools, from elementary through high school
Grow the quality and reach of our social media content
Continuously improve our curriculum
The future of SpeechDojo is beyond exciting. Our family of teacher-partners, donors, mentors and 50 devoted team members will be the foundation which enables us to build our next five years.
